Paulownia Timber

Paulownia is a high quality hardwood timber used for furniture, feature walls, veneers, and interiors of caravans and boats. The timber is easy to work with and has a light honey coloured grain with no knots. Paulownia is a deciduous tree that originates from China and other areas of south-east Asia. Paulownia will grow in a range of temperatures but prefers warm climates and flourishes with a constant water supply and well-drained soils. The property at Moora experiences warm weather throughout the growing season and has a 1.5 gigalitre water license to give the trees optimal growing conditions.

Japan is the worlds largest importer of timber representing 40% of the worlds trade. Emerging economies such as China and India are expected to out grow Japans demand within the next decade, placing even more pressure on an already under supplied product.
